Krishna Maya Shrestha is a young girl of 11 years, with many hopes and dreams that are being threatened by the chronic poverty facing her family. She is currently is 2nd grade, thanks to her elder sister's sacrifice. Her elder sister dropped out of school to work and finance Krishna's education. Her family, who are farmers make less then $25 a month and cannot put Krishna through school. Now, her older sister's sacrifice might be for nothing as Krishna will also have to forgo her education in order to work to support her family. If given an opportunity to stay in school, Krishna will not have to make this sacrifice and her sister might be able to continue her education as well.
